Hands On Social Media: The Social Media Ecosystem and Hive Model

I really enjoyed reading all of the perspectives on SEO evangelist Lee Odden’s excellent post that included a variety of people that I respect advocating for strategy before tactics.

But what exactly does that mean? How can that be made practical?

A few months ago I outlined my thinking about the importance of a holistic view of social communication in a post and graphic about the Social Media Ecosystem. But when I stumbled across the Prezi tool again this past week at the NewComm Forum, I found it really brought the graphic to life! See what I mean…

I also was turned back on to an old tool by my business partner Beth Kanter. She often uses wikispaces to disseminate info and teach. I am following in her footsteps tomorrow with a hands-on presentation to PRSA Houston. Since it is a live seminar, I hope that the combo of Prezi and Wikispaces together make it compelling. When I went to start a new account it reminded me that I opened one in 2007 – goes to show you that things do change.
