Social Media and Fundraising: A Giving Experiment On Deadline

Beth Kanter, author of Beth's Blog: How Nonprofits Can Use Social Media, has been running a campaign for the past few weeks to raise money that will be used to help Cambodian children get an education. It is called Route Out of Poverty for Cambodian Children, and among other things, it gives them in an education in how to use a computer.  It is part of Parade Magazine's Giving Challenge and the cause with the most donors (notice not the most money) will win.  read more...

Newspapers Won’t Die: Online News Sites Enjoyed Record Viewers in 2007

  The Newspaper Association of America released its annual report conducted by Nielson Research, which showed a record year for unique visitors to newspaper Web sites in 2007. Average monthly unique audience figures for newspaper Web sites grew by more than 3.6 million in 2007, a record year for the industry and an increase of more than six percent over 2006 numbers.
