The Houston Business Journal named Zoetica founder and CEO Kami Huyse as a 2022 Women Who Mean Business honoree in the Outstanding Business Leaders in Professional Services category.
The awards recognized “women in leadership roles who have demonstrated excellence in their careers and community.” The honorees, representing over a dozen categories, were selected by a distinguished panel of judges composed of leaders from the business, healthcare, law, and nonprofit industries.
As part of the selection process, honorees were asked to share what they consider the most important trait of an effective leader. “The main job of a leader is to remove obstacles and elevate others. If you want maximum productivity from others, clear the way for them to get there. The best leaders are in service to their team,” said Kami. For up-and-comers she recommended, “Don’t let anyone define you. Always be true to yourself, trust your gut, and be kind to others. This has served me well in business and has blunted many potential disasters.”
