Three Steps: How Companies Can Participate Successfully in Social Media

October 9, 2008 by Kami Huyse

The first time I wrote about a three-step process for organizations to participate in social media was in February of 2007. While my thinking on how it works has gotten much more complex over time, it still is a simple framework by which a company can start think about social media strategy.  I would love to hear what others think each of these steps should entail.  What does it mean to listen? How can you read more...

Six Game Changers: Why Content Will Once Again Be King in Search Engine Optimization

September 9, 2008 by Kami Huyse

I am not an Search Engine Optimization expert; however, I know enough to understand that it is critical to brands. It is clear to me that the Google Homepage, which accounted for 59.2 percent of all searches done in the US in February 2008, has become the new homepage of a company. Tom Formeski from Silicon Valley Watcher makes a point that PR firms who sell social media services should also have a blog of their own.  He intends to take "a regular look at PR firms and their blogs or lack of them." My friend and PR guru Joe Thornley from Fallis Thornley takes it a read more...

Fun Friday: Social Media Fatigue

May 30, 2008 by Kami Huyse

It has been a long time since I published a Fun Friday post, and I think it is high time that I lightened up a bit, don't you? Thanks to Leo Bottary's Twitter post I found this post that carried the video on my Fun Friday post (which is all very ironic considering the subject matter of this video). Last January I predicted that this would be the year of social media fatigue and I don't know about you, but some days read more...
