Tips to Create a Successful Rebrand with Alan Hennessy, The Digital Mentor

Are you ready to breathe fresh air into your business or switch gears entirely? Whatever the reason, there are active steps you can take to ensure your rebrand hits the mark. 🎯 

In a recent livestream, Zoetica founder Kami Huyse spoke with Alan Hennessy about how he used his experience as Head of Digital at Kompass Media to become The Digital Mentor, and the take-aways others can learn from his rebranding experience. 

Be Clear About Your Why

Rebranding might seem daunting, but if you’re clear about your reason, the scaffolding structure to put everything together will be easier to create. Alan’s passion for helping other entrepreneurs required him to step out from behind his agency’s mantle and become known in his own right.

Create a plan and structure

Approach your rebranding methodically. Determine what exactly you want to achieve, within what timeframe, who the rebranding is targeting or serving, and what assets you will need.

Find a Support System

Surround yourself with people who you trust and who you can bounce ideas off of. It’s easy to become myopic when it comes to your own business and work, so having an objective but supportive sounding board will ensure you’re on the right track.

Hold yourself accountable

Unless you take the necessary action, the wonderful ideas you have won’t see the light of day. Procrastination can be a death knell. Create timelines and deadlines that you adhere to, building in enough flexibility for unanticipated delays.

Build and strengthen your visibility

Visibility is key to ensuring the work you do gets seen by the right people. Alan decided to create a dedicated website, write a book, and launch a new podcast, all impressive undertakings. But smaller tasks can also create visibility gold, as Alan shared in a LinkedIn post. Be kind to yourself

Aim for high quality, but don’t focus on “being perfect” as that’s impossible to achieve. Rather, strive towards getting increasingly better as time goes on, and take pride in the progress you’ve already made.
