Cool Tools: Staying Connected With Your Social Network

August 21, 2007 by Kami Huyse

What better way than sending free social media cards that can be embedded in your web page and also sent as a text message? I made this card for Shel Israel, a dear friend of mine that today is one year OLDer. His exact age is a state secret. I have also been waiting for an opportunity to share this new tool with all of my readers and I am sure Shel will forgive me for crossing my purposes.   Create Your Own GushyGram Visit read more...

Confessions of a Reluctant Moblogger

August 18, 2007 by Kami Huyse

Part of the fun of my maternity leave has been that I have finally had time (between naps) to really explore some of the social networks, like Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter, to determine how I can leverage them for clients.I have about three or four posts rattling around in my head from this exploration, but it will be a few days before I can get to them. A week ago I was unexpectedly thrust into a partial vacation from the Internet, or at least from my semi-mobile routine.I am admittedly in somewhat of a rut with my approach to my online life. Earlier this year Akon engaged in a lewd act onstage with a 15-year-old girl, causing read more...

MyRaganTV.com Introduces YouTube for Communicators

August 7, 2007 by Kami Huyse

Like many other communicators, I signed up for an account at MyRagan when it launched.  It is an interesting site, the "Facebook" for communicators.  They have some great content on the site and it serves as a good place for people that may be a bit uncomfortable with MySpace or Facebook to experiment in the medium with like-minded communicators.  Now, Regan Communication site has also launched a companion  site called MyRaganTV.  I had the opportunity to talk with Mark Ragan about this new property a few months ago, and it should serve as a great professional read more...

PR Measurement: Much More Than Just Popularity or Relative Influence

August 2, 2007 by Kami Huyse

Flemming Madison, of Onalytica, has come out with a list of PR blogs by their "relative influence" around the terms "PR" and "Blog." Flemming posits that those that make the list are influential based on these words and the relative weight of those that link to them or propagate their ideas. It is an interesting concept and as Flemming points out in his first post on the subject citation analysis has long been used by the academic field read more...
